Facing the reality of a new school term. Are you ready?

When the ‘honeymoon’ period of the first term of the school year comes to a close, there is a stark reminder that the difficulties your child has been experiencing, are still there. The reality is, that without a one on one, very specific intervention for a dyslexic learner, most children with learning difficulties in literacy will make very little progress and confidence will continue to plummet, causing anxiety issues and school resistance.

For many hopeful parents who have had a lot of faith in the system or the new teacher, the expected improvements in learning are often not the reality. Unfortunately by this time in the year many parents are sadly disappointed and confused as to what to do next.

Some may have heard about the latest new phonics or reading program that guarantees super quick results or perhaps there is a computer program or app that everyone is jumping onto the kids love using. While there are some excellent programs out there that can assist those who have some minor difficulties with literacy, providing a dyslexic learner with the skills to learn to read, write and spell requires much more specific tools and training, with a one on one intervention.
